Megan's Photo Blog |
From the first day I walked into this class to know there has been so much change form not only my picture taking skills but also my photoshop skills. I had never used photoshop and could not really crop a picture right and know I am doing things like layer masks which know seem simple. And I went from not really knowing anything about a camera or how to take good pictures. And I have learned how to focus right and use a tripod. On the left is on of the very first pictures I took in this class and on the right is one of the pictures I took just a couple weeks ago. You can see just from these two that I have improved a ton. And that is just the first week of taking photos it gets better from there. Overall I have really enjoyed this class from going out and taking pictures and coming into class and doing the different photoshop assignments. It was fun to watch my growth and see the actual pictures. My favorite picture was for sure this one: My least favorite picture is:

For this assignment we had to go out and take portrait pictures and then go into photoshop and add frames and a black background. I really liked this project the photoshop was simple but the pictures still look nice and it was fun to have to go different places to find the right light and nice backgrounds.
For this assignment we had to take a minimum of 50 photos in one category and then pick our best to edit and turn in and then blog the next best five. For this picture the aperture f/8.0 and a shutter speed of 1/500 and an ISO of 80 I liked this assignment because I was able to go out side and it is not something I am normally doing so it was fun to go outside of my normal zone. It was hard to not get myself in the pictures and still get a good shadow.
For this assignment we had to start with a "dash of color" to get us started and then move to one of the other tutorials and then to two of them. Afterwards blog them. www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-effects/photo-blend/
I enjoyed this assignment because it was nice to be able to pick what to do not have it chosen for me and I was nice to try things out on my own. Sometimes it was hard to make it look like one picture not one on top of the other. For this assignment we had to take 50 photos and turn in the best one and blog the next best 5. For this assignment I enjoyed working with the different backgrounds and words. I also enjoyed getting to spell out what ever I wanted. I struggled a little bit to get the words lined up.
For this assignment we had to go around and take 5 pictures on with just the empty background and 4 with talent in them. And then go into photoshop and put all the talent in one picture The photo on the left has a shutter speed of 1/125 the aperture is f/3.5 and the ISO is 800. The on the right is has a shutter speed of 1/125 the aperture is f/3.5 and the ISO is 800. What I liked about this assignment was that we got to go out and take pictures and move around and it was fun to work with photoshop.
For this assignment we had to take a minimum of 50 photos in one category and then pick our best to edit and turn in and then blog the next best five. For this picture the ISO is 800, the shutter speed is 1/60, and the aperture is f/3.4. I really liked this assignment it was fun to look at food in a different way then just to eat. I really liked having to work with the light and what to put it on and were to put it. I think I learned a lot about were to put things and what to put them on.
For this assignment we had to go and take a picture form somewhere in the school and change the context for example super heroes in the hallway, ect. This is the picture right of the camera the ISO is 80 the shutter speed is 1/160 and the aperture is f/2.8. And that turned into this.. I liked this assignment because we could do what ever theme we wanted, but at times it was hard. It was fun to work with shadows and the window pains.
For this assignment we had to take a minimum of 50 photos in one category and then pick our best to edit and turn in and then blog the next best five. On the left is the photo right off the camera and on the right it the edited version. The ISO is 800, the shutter speed is 1/400 and the aperture is f/6.3. I really liked using more photoshop for this assignment. I think that the black and white adds drama to the photos. Overall I really liked this assignment.
For this assignment we had to take five panoramic pictures and us photoshop to merge them together into one photo. And then turn the best two in and the blog the five. Doing this assignment I learned that you have to do some over lap with your photos so they can be put together as one photo. And it was the first time using a tripod to I learned how to that and I used photo merge for the first time. I really enjoyed this assignment.
